What is ephemera?

A publication that is produced to convey information that is generally expected to have a short-term use and then discarded. Often related to a specific place, person, event or moment in time. Whilst ephemera material may be produced with only a limited use in mind, it is an important source of information about Australian history not often captured by other publication channels. Examples include brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, flyers, concert programs etc.
