If there is more than one user account connected to a publisher account, these will be listed at the bottom of the My publisher and user account details page. Each user will need to log in separately to change the contact details in their user account.

Forgot username or password

Enter your username (if you know it) or your email address and instructions will be emailed to you to create a new password. If you do not receive an email, please first check your junk folder – if it has not been received, please contact your member library.

Can I set access and reuse conditions preferences for my publications?

If you are likely to be depositing more than one publication or issues of a serial publication (such as a newsletter, magazine, or annual report), and they will have the same access and reuse conditions, you can set default access and reuse conditions in My publisher and user account details.

In ‘My preferences’, click on Edit and set the defaults, then click on Save changes.

Access conditions preferences

These default selections will be applied to any future deposits you make. You will have the option to change the default selection during the deposit process if you need to.

If you want to change the access conditions for previous deposits, see How do I change the access conditions for my publication?

There is an error in the information about my publication in the Trove record – how can I get it corrected?

The details you provided during deposit will be reviewed by your member library when they complete the catalogue record, and any minor corrections will also be made at this time (generally within 3 months of deposit). If you notice an error in the information about your publication in the Trove record that requires urgent attention, you can contact your member library to request corrections. You will need to provide the NED reference ID number and the information to be corrected.

Please note that the member libraries will prioritise correcting errors (such as typos) to improve discoverability of publications. Any other requests regarding updating and/or adding information to a publication record will be at the discretion of the member library. Publication records will be enhanced using recognised library cataloguing standards.

Can I replace a publication I have deposited with an updated version?

NED does not accept reprints or updated versions of electronic publications containing corrections or other minor changes. We strongly encourage depositors to review their publications carefully before depositing to ensure that you are confident that you are submitting the final version of your publication.

If your electronic publication has changed substantially then it may be deposited as a new edition. A new edition should have an edition statement, (e.g. ’second edition’ or ‘revised edition’) and a new ISBN (ISBNs cannot be reused). The ISBN must be for the electronic publication if you also have a print edition. New editions frequently contain new content or extensive revisions.

A new edition will be added to the collection alongside previous editions. Previous editions will not be removed from the collection.

How do I remove a publication from NED?

Publishers who wish to remove a publication from NED after it has been deposited should submit a takedown request via their member library. All requests for takedown will be considered according to the National and State Libraries Australasia (NSLA) takedown position statement and guidelines.
